kichiku megane R

I’ve finally finished kichiku megane R the fan disc (or should I say sequel) to well kichiku megane which I’ve done a review here: link) So it’s been 2 years since I’ve played the game (wow how time flows fast) and I had to delayed playing it until after I finished my exams, so as I wait for torchwood children of earth (which might finally air on the 6th of July WOOOT!) I play this which as taken me ages

There’s so much to talk about this game..now where to start…

1st of all the fan disc can be a standalone game, it’s about 1.54GB.Well it has additional material such as screensaver, wallpaper and desktop assistant (which is cute but not a lot of functions)! The actual main AVG and typing game is 1.07GB which is bigger then the original. I had no problem installing the game but AGTH doesn't work unlike the original. So I had to play blind (great even though I do know a bit of Japanese..).

So next I like to talk about the typing game kichuda! Which is great great fun and more easier then the lamento typing game nayanda (which I only managed to only get 1 Asato ending). There are 2 mode story in which you have to play though first. Basically you play megane version of Katsuya Saeki, you meet a kichu fairy and well gives you a special keyboard that allows you to strip men (wooo) and you go 7 stages in stripping 7 guys. Each guy has 3 stages in which you have a minute to type certain words, each stage strips the males down to their pants (ooo yeah). So after finishing story mood you open challenge mood.

In challenge mood you go though a different stage with the 7 males each having a different difficulty level. Here you have 3 minutes to type as much words as you can. In the end you are given a c,b,a or s rank. If you get a s rank you get a little omake with the characters. There are 2 modes one normal where you type in English roman and is normal easy and kichu mood where you type in Japanese.

I found the typing game real fun but a little annoying practically that 1/7 of the fruit (aka pomegranates) can be gotten by getting S rank on all characters in challenge mood. Mr R is the MOST hardest stages. In the end I gave up T_T

Next is the AVG (aka the visual novel part) it’s exactly like the original but years later. There’s 3 new characters with 30 endings to get, I am going to go in order the way I played it. Starting from the megane Katsuya Saeki. Sakuras are the common theme as the 1st scene that the story takes place as well the link between sawamura and katsuya past. Warning spoilers from here…

So far katsuya (megane) there’s a new character called Sawamura (voiced by no other then by kishio daisuke XD). From the help of some web sites and research he is the friend that betrayed katsuya by selecting people to bully him because he was jealous of katsuya wit and good grades. He only appears in megane katsuya route I don’t know why he’s not in normal katsuya route (maybe if he did poor katsuya would get rapped..or something..). He’s kind of like a rival to katsuya and talks like him in a deep sexy voice (nice…), his company is Christopher trust. In every route he’s the main baddie trying to make katsuya life more harder to live. It’s seems like katsuya found out the betrayal when the sakura fell and the main reason why he hates them.

The main story route is mainly around sawamura and Mr R giving katsuya glasses yet another pair of glasses. The glasses now have a R metre which increases if you do something naughty, like the original kichu metre it really does nothing and indicates a bad ending. I am going though the character route briefly as there’s a lot of business talk going on and ot’s really really long I don’t understand half of it.

Mido: He and katsuya started a new company called Acquire Association (??!), sawamura kidnaps mido and yeah..Kouji Yusa on top form with his sexy uke voice and I’ve put on his system voice as default as his speech for kichuda is great.

Katagiri: the most emotional and angst out of them but also the sweetest story I played. Katsuya is still with the 8th division, and sawamura has lured katagirl to join Christopher trust to get his attention (I think). Katagiri wants to break up with katsuya but disagrees. In the end katsuya proposes to katagiri (AWWWWW!) and live happily ever after.

Honda: kind of the same as katagiri, appart from honda wants to split from katsuya to protect him (linked to a jealous reason due to one of his team mates). And katsuya really did’nt care that honda wanted to spilt and the fact that honda had to beg katsuya to take him back.

Aki: Not as angst, and quite basic. Aki wants to be katsuya lover and not his pet cat. I think you can figure out what’s going to happen in the end.

Overall katsuya megane routes are nice but a bit repeated, and katsuya megane has a more nicer side.

So now on to normal katsuya route, there’s no sawamura. The basic plot line is based on a particular business problem and the return of mr R and his R glasses. Gosh katsuya become more needing then before, but it makes his uke voice more hot. Also he seems to be tricked by mr R a lot as if katsuya do wears the glasses shows he hasn't changed and get to be Mr R slave in which a video of their sexual activity is shown to his lover (in Taichi and mido routes, Taichi was an interesting response) the only exception is Honda route.

Taichi: The yakusa is back and they kidnap katsuya for some reason. There’s also a problem about MGN not accepting taichi band music (called grab your luggage giggle). Yeah it was ok

Honda: They still working in the 8th division, and are working with MGN and another company on some garden project of some kind. A new character is introduced called masura (the VA is unknown but it sounds A LOT like Yuuichi Nakamura) who was in university with honda and katsuya in the volley ball team. Some how masura holds some kind of a grudge against honda due to some reason in the past (linked to betrayal I don’t know). But all is resolved in the end.

Mido: Katsuya is in MGN, They are working on another beauty product. There’s a new character called honjou (no idea on his VA) who is mido university friend, who of course has some kind of grudge against mido. Katsuya gets involved in a car accident, but does’nt give in to honjou bribes and even tries to play him off.  

Finally club R and those fruits. Most of the omakes are funny and mostly involve selfcest and odd sexual situations. The one that stands out for me is where megane and normal katsuya get married XD. I’ve only viewed 4/7 fruit as one needs to be unlocked if I S rank Mr R in the typing game (which is impossible) the final is unblocked if all 6 fruits are seen.

In the end I am happy with this fan disc, I don’t know how spray going to top this by STEAL. But we have to wait and see huh? I’ve decided I am a new fan of hirakawa daisuke how he acts with his seme and uke voice is wonderful.

Oh even though Window live writer is good, there's no Livejournal cut so I am still doing enteries on window live writer put pasting and finshing it in livejournal.
